What can I expect when I make contact?
When you first contact us, we will answer your questions and ask you briefly about what has led to your enquiry. If you are happy to proceed, then we will make an appointment with you, explain the fee arrangements, give location directions, and answer any further questions you may have. We may also ask for some of your contact details so we can get in touch with you if needed.
What can I expect from the first session?
The first session is an opportunity for you to meet Yalda and to tell her in greater detail about what has brought you to therapy. She is likely to ask you further questions to help you and her to get a clearer sense of what you are experiencing. Toward the end of the session, you and Yalda will discuss some of your hopes and expectations for therapy, and develop an initial plan for the therapy.
How many sessions will I need?
The numbers of sessions for therapy depends on the nature of your difficulties and the approach you and Yalda agree upon. Some issues can be resolved in a session or two, but usually therapy involves a greater number of sessions. In these cases, over the first three sessions, you and your therapist will develop a greater sense of your difficulties and begin working toward resolving them. At the end of the third session, you and your therapist will develop a plan for future sessions in light of your work together thus far and goals for therapy. This may involve a set number of sessions within a specific time frame, or be open-ended. In any case, the frequency and number of sessions are always open to review.
How long does each session last?
